THE DONALD ROSS SOCIETY FOUNDATION

The Donald Ross Society Foundation is a charitable trust operated by the Donald Ross Society. The Foundation currently has assets of just over $60,000.

The Foundation has financially supported projects such as bunker restoration at the Wilmington Municipal in Wilmington, North Carolina. Since 1998 the Foundation and the Ross Society have donated $76,500 to the Tufts Archives in Pinehurst to help continue the preservation and dissemination of original Ross documents that are vital resources for Clubs that are pursuing restoration work.

The Foundation is a 501 C-3 public organization. While a major source of income for the trust continues to be the distributions from the Donald Ross Society Corporation itself, individual contributions are essential to maintain this status. With this in mind the Donald Ross Society Foundation is calling for contributions. Additionally, when the Society holds a golf outing, a portion of the collected entry fee is set aside to build the Foundation Trust. For this reason, entry fees are made payable to the Foundation, and are partially tax deductible.

We intend to use the money to continue working with Municipal Ross courses, many of which are in dire need of attention. We hope that by initiating Architectural review, we can arouse interest among the municipalities to restore the wonderful Ross works that they operate. We hope that we have the same effect as we did at Wilmington where a $7,000.00 donation spurred the City into investing $ 180,000.00 to restore the bunkers. Of course, we also feel obligated to continue our support for the Tufts Archives in Pinehurst.
